I, like most gamers, sit pretty close to my tv anyway, but if you need a long cord, this pad’s got you covered. Luckily, I had no reason to worry, because the cable is really long. I was a bit worried about the cable’s length. If you like vibration feedback, the lack of this feature on the pad might be a deal breaker for you, but I eventually got used to it.

Most newer PS3 games don’t use six-axis anymore and most of the older games use it only as an optional feature, but a few games will be a bit difficult, if not downright impossible to play with this pad.

It does feel a bit lighter than the official pad, but not like it’s fragile or going to break anytime soon.Ī couple of downsides though, are that it lacks vibration and six-axis motion control. The general shape of the pad itself just feels better than the official pad. They’re shaped more like actual triggers, which I immensely enjoy. The triggers, likewise, are a bit different. That little bit of distanced between your thumb and the button shaved off does wonders for preventing finger cramps. I think this works a lot better, especially when to have to rapidly tap the buttons. They’re rounded and raised as opposed to the flat buttons on the regular pad. One thing I really like is the design of the buttons. It’s not branded by gamestop, but it’s the exact same design. I got the version with red details, but there is a version with blue details. The design isn’t the usual PS3 controller design, it’s actually more like the Xbox 360 pad, which can be a bit weird to get used to at first, but once you do (and it shouldn’t take long) it becomes second nature. My used PS3 controllers from GameStop cost more than this New controller The gold is a bright, shiny metallic.

Most of the pad is clear so you can see the inner workings, which I think is pretty cool. I go to Gamestop for pretty much all my gaming needs so when my official PS3 pad broke, I immediately turned to Gamestop to get a replacement.
